Virtual Engagement Volunteer (Open All Year Round)

 

Justice Without Borders (JWB) is inviting applications for Virtual Engagement Volunteer. This position will focus on strengthening JWB’s online engagement with donors. This role is focused on developing JWB’s infrastructure to reach out to supporters online and engage them with meaningful content and opportunities. The position is available starting immediately.

Founded in 2013, Justice Without Borders (JWB) is a regional non-profit advancing transnational access to legal assistance for migrant workers. Focusing on those who have suffered labor exploitation and human trafficking, we address the unique strategic and logistical issues that lawyers and clients face in bringing cross-border claims.  We also work to scale up our impact by imparting our expertise to a growing network of frontline NGOs, law firm partners, and government agencies, so others can take on the work of cross-border access to justice.

Position Description

The Virtual Engagement Volunteer will work with our Fundraising Lead to segment our online donor database, understand our following on LinkedIn and create and dispatch fundraising materials. The details of the responsibilities are as follows:

  • Segmenting online donor database—Segmenting our donor database on our online communications platform to ensure updated lists and accurate segments for more targeted communication.
  • Understanding our LinkedIn followers—As the prioritized social media channel for fundraising, analyzing our followers and how to engage them effectively.
  • Creating online materials—Create and dispatch communication to our donors, including but not limited to: event-specific communication, occasion greetings, appeals.

Terms of work

  • Duration: 6 months
  • Time commitment: 18 hours a week
  • Start Date: Immediate
  • Location: Remote

Qualifications

Candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Experience
    • Previous experience in marketing/communications/social media management.
    • Previous experience with design (Canva, Adobe, etc.)
  • Preferred:
    • Previous experience working in the NGO, or in a related  international organization.
    • Experience in migrant worker issues or related fields.
    • Master’s Degree.
  • Language
    • High fluency in English, with strong writing, communications, and presentation skills
  • Skill-set and working style
    • Well organised and a strong planner.
    • Analytical skills- quantitative and qualitative.
    • Willingness to learn and to go beyond one’s own comfort zone.
    • Able to follow through on tasks and responsibilities independently.
    • Can multi-task under time pressure.
    • Willing to take direction and work with the Head of Fundraising to implement regional fundraising objectives.
  • Technical
    • Proficiency with social media platforms, specially LinkedIn
    • Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and similar platforms.
