2021 Annual Report
2021 was the year where Covid-19 was no longer new, but uncertainty about the future remained unchanged. In the migrant worker sector, we saw lockdowns keep workers in place overseas. But while borders remained closed, we stayed open and worked to advance access to justice for migrant workers. Our report covers the key impacts and major firsts we achieved together in the year.
Key milestones in 2021:
- Training milestone: Launched first ever yearlong mentorship programmes for frontline caseworkers in Indonesia and union leaders in Hong Kong, in partnership with the ILO.
- Litigation milestone: First successful claim against a bankrupt employer in Singapore, recovering compensation for the worker.
- Litigation milestone: First successful video link trial in Singapore for a domestic worker.
