Workshop Overview and Agenda

The event seeks to give current and new practitioners a foundational understanding of the legal remedies available to migrant workers who have faced various challenges in the workplace, and how they may access those remedies upon returning home.

The workshop will include hands-on case analysis and a round-table discussion of the role Singapore’s legal system plays in international labour migration, how practitioners can leverage Singapore’s strong rule of law to help those who need legal aid, and how outcomes in Singapore can lead to positive impacts in labour migration practice across the region. By the end of the workshop, participants will be ready to engage in case preparation, litigation, and/or strategic legal research in this area of transnational pro bono practice.
