Join us at our second annual practitioner’s workshop, Employing Legal Solutions for International Migrant Workers: A Legal Education Workshop on Cross-Border Civil Litigation.
The event will be held on Saturday, 25th June 2016, 9.00AM – 1.00PM, at the Moot Court Room of the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore, Eu Tong Sen Building, 469G Bukit Timah Road, Singapore 259776.

The event is co-hosted by the Law Society of Singapore, Beacon Law Corporation and Jaclyn Neo, Assistant Professor, NUS Faculty of Law. Sponsorship for the event is generously provided by Herbert Smith Freehills LLP.
This workshop will introduce the wide variety of private law issues that migrant workers encounter in Singapore and upon their return home. Recent critical updates to the law will also be introduced and discussed. Participants will then examine legal remedies available to workers, using fact patterns from actual cases. The workshop will equip pro bono lawyers with the tools needed to develop this new area of legal practice on an international level.
The event is free for attendees, but seats are limited. Preference will be given to lawyers, both locally qualified and international lawyers. Participants may claim 3.5 Public CPD Points for this workshop, provided they comply with SILE’s CPD Attendance Policy. Please refer to http://www.sileCPDcentre.sg for more information.
Below is a full schedule of the event. Contact Rachel Hines, JWB Pro Bono Officer, at hines [at] forjusticewithoutborders.org for more information.
