Ari

JWB is delighted to welcome Sri Aryani (Ari) on board as our Indonesia Pro Bono Officer, based in Jakarta. Prior to joining JWB, Ari worked for 12 years as a senior official at the Tifa Foundation in management and labour migration research positions. She holds a Master’s Degree in Sociology from the University of Indonesia and wrote her thesis on Women Domestic Workers and the Global Care Chain. In addition to her work at the Tifa Foundation, she has worked on research projects related to migrant workers and Indonesian corridor migration for many other organisations. Her full biography can be found here.

Ari will handle all aspects of JWB’s Indonesia work, including coordinating with JWB’s front-line partner organisations, screening and developing migrant worker cases for possible litigation in Hong Kong and Singapore, coordinating with local pro bono lawyers and other volunteers, and conducting capacity building activities.

Ari explained that she joined JWB because she saw that JWB’s work in cross-border civil compensation for migrant workers could bring new hope to those who faced exploitation. She noted it also gives her a chance to work on the ground again, and to make a more direct impact in the field. JWB is excited to have her become part of the team, and to have her help in growing our work across the country.
